New brand makes its mark on the UK coffee scene

23rd Mar 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
A new coffee chain is making an appearance in shopping centres around the UK – Love Coffee is a new brand launched by former BB’s Coffee & Muffins franchisee, Shashi Patel of DJ & C Foods.
Existing cafés are in the process of being rebranded as Love Coffee and the company has already opened two further stores in Woking to add to its portfolio. Patel said: "When BB's went into administration, we felt it was an opportunity to do our own thing. I was BB's largest franchisee for 12 years with 13 cafés so felt we knew the market very well and understand our customer base. We have sourced our own blend of coffee from the Nairobi Coffee Company and will continue to offer a range of sandwiches and muffins, freshly made in the cafés." The cafés which stock New Zealand Natural ice cream will continue to do so. "Our target is to have 25 cafés by the end of the year," commented Mr Patel. "We have purchased two BB's sites from the administrators and we are also looking at brand new sites. We have a good track record with landlords for good operations and customer service and they have received the new brand very favourably." The new logo and store fit has been designed by Tait Design and the property search is being undertaken by Harper Dennis Hobbs. The rebranding will be completed over the next few months, with Meadowhall and Woking among the first. The group has sites throughout Cheshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire and include Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port and Westfield Derby.
