Hughes has experience in e-commerce, multi-channel and CRM and joins Brakes from Game where he was chief marketing officer. Prior to this Hughes was responsible for M&S Direct and designed and delivered the multi-channel proposition for the retailer.
Hughes will oversee all marketing activity in the UK, across all sectors and channels.
In addition, Adam Martin has joined Brakes in the newly created role of customer solutions director. He joins from Mitchells & Butler where he was marketing & strategy director. Martin left the pub and restaurant group last year and has been working as a consultant. His new role at Brakes will involve developing a better understanding of and communication with the food distribution business's customer base.
