The scheme sees Nestlé partner with early stage businesses in trying to address specific brand and business challenges in the aim of ‘revolutionising’ the nutrition, health and wellness sectors.
The six challenges set out in the project include assessing and diagnosing micronutrient deficiency and finding complementary and sustainable material in replacing water bottles.
The startups selected by HENRi collaborate with it on a “partner-pilot-proof of concept” and gain access to the Nestlé senior sponsor and $50,000 funding to support the in-field pilot.
Nestlé global innovation director, Gerardo Mazzeo, said: “We have a huge ambition and breadth – looking at business challenges from helping families with portion control and tackling obesity to addressing packaging sustainability within our bottled water business.
“It’s just the beginning, and I’m looking forward to working with the team at Nestlé and new startups to make a difference on projects that matter.”
