Abstract
Susan Gregory, head of food at Nestlé Professional, has started a campaign urging chefs to think about their choice of ingredients.

The Maggi Real Chefs campaign will try to engage new chefs through a Facebook page, which will encourage them to develop creative and interesting recipes around the current season’s food trends.

This campaign, supported by the founder of the Fine Food Company, will launch its campaign with a focus on burger recipes. Promoting the chefs to “Build a better burger” by using high-quality foods from a good source to take a regular burger to a whole new level.

This winning recipe is awarded with a sum of £1,000, which is intended to demonstrate that places using the best ingredients in an innovative way to engage customers will reap the rewards.

Susan Gregory stated: “Quality ingredients are the heart of our business and we want to open chefs’ eyes to the potential business opportunity this presents. With business failures hitting a five year high, it is vital that as an industry we help hospitality operators ride out this wave by giving them encouragement, practical tools and advice to achieve success.”

This “Build a better burger” campaign will be giving chefs the opportunity to accept the newest culinary trends and use it to their own advantage in business.

The campaign will be supported by a new website, which will offer insight, perception, tips and assistance on the newest food trends, and ideas on how to make the trends work for the chef. It will act like an exhibition for newer chefs to share tips, and get stimulation and motivation from chefs at the top of the business chain.

In order to enter the Maggi Real Chef “Build a better burger” campaign, the willing Chef must upload a short video/clip or photo of their creative burger to the official website in order to be evaluated by the judges.
