National Doughnut Week raises £25k for children’s charity

There’s more to sweet treats than you think…This year’s National Doughnut Week (May) raised over £25,000 for The Children’s Trust it was announced yesterday (14 August).

With bakers, coffee shops and businesses having taken part across the country, their combined doughnut sales totalled £25,327.

 

All funds will be donated to The Children’s Trust – the national charity for children suffering from brain injury.

 

Daniel Carr from Warings Bakery - who raised over £1,400 - commented: “We had another successful National Doughnut Week and this year, our customers were in high spirits enjoying the festivities along with our Royal Wedding theme.

 

“National Doughnut Week is and remains a highlight of our customers calendar!”


 

Event sponsor CSM Bakery Solutions added: “National Doughnut Week has once again been a huge success. The Royal Wedding fell into the week this year, so it was great to see bakers using the event as inspiration for their doughnut themes.

 

“The creativity shown really was fantastic and it was all in aid of a brilliant cause.”
