Abstract
The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) will be holding its annual Training & Development Forum at the East Midlands Convention Centre in Nottingham from 2-3rd October 2024.
Two dynamic days full of workshops, cookery demonstrations, expert speakers and an array of suppliers to the care catering sector await attendees. Care catering managers, dietitians, NHS staff, local authority staff and suppliers to the care catering sector are encouraged to attend.
Topics for 2024 include:
- Sustainability – look at why’s it is so important, and simple ways you can achieve it from reducing food waste to managing your kitchen energy consumption.
- Hear about the new CQC’s Single Assessment Framework – Supporting care homes to meet the CQC’s single assessment framework whilst meeting nutritional needs for residents.
- Why choose apprenticeships or create your own Chef Academy? – more and more care groups are creating their own chef training programmes to support their staff with career development and nurture culinary talent. Explore best practice from some of the UK’s most successful organisations in their training pathways and recommendations.
- Tailor your itinerary to suit by choosing from our range of workshops covering topics such as food procurement and nutrition, dignity in dining, menu fortification, hydration, IDDSI, diabetes, special diets.
The NACC Forum will also reveal the winner of the Care Chef of the Year competition, which challenges chefs to create an appealing and delicious two-course menu (main and dessert) appropriate for people in a care setting.
