Abstract
Northern Irish foodservice and business solutions company, The Mount Charles Group has raised more than £7,000 in aid of Cancer Fund for Children with their annual charity golf day.

Held at Knock Golf Club, 25 teams comprising of customers, suppliers and employees took part in an afternoon of close competition, which was followed by a gala dinner and charity auction hosted by special guest, May McFetridge.

The team from Frylite took top honours with a score of 96, closely followed by the team from Galgorm Group, while Ian Simpson from IPSS carded the best individual score of 40.

The charity auction, which included an Ulster Rugby shirt signed by the squad and a round of golf for four at Royal Portrush, was also generously supported.

Cathal Geoghegan, Managing Director of the Mount Charles Group said: “Our golf day gave us the perfect opportunity to bring customers, suppliers and employees together from across our divisions and raise vital funds for this great cause.

“The event was a great success, both on and off the course, and we’re proud to support Cancer Fund for Children and the fantastic work they do in Northern Ireland. We’ve been working together for six years now and in that time we’ve raised over £70,000, which is a great achievement.

“Our annual golf day is important for us as a company, as it allows us to bring together groups that might not always be able to meet face-to-face. It helps us to maintain personal relationships with everyone we work with, from suppliers to customers, and that is something we value very highly.”
