Abstract
Westminster Kingsway College has welcomed Government Minister Lord Young to its central London Victoria Centre to meet learners on two successful apprenticeship programmes run by the College.
Lord Young of Norwood Green is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Skills and Apprenticeships with specific responsibility for encouraging employer support for apprenticeships. The Minister was met by the Principal of Westminster Kingsway College, Andy Wilson who introduced him firstly to a group of learners on the college's apprenticeship programme for the Civil Service. Lord Young was able to meet a group of apprentices on the NVQ Level 3 Management programme and hear of their experiences. He was then introduced to four of Westminster Kingsway College's Chef Apprentices. The apprentices are working in the hospitality industry while completing their training at the College's School of Hospitality.
