Midlands football club supports free school meals for all campaign
Abstract
Coventry City football club has backed No Child Left Behind’s free school meals for all campaign as they believe pupils, like players, need hot and nutritious food to reach their potential.

Free school meals for all is a national campaign urging the Government to ensure every child has the basics to learn and thrive.

Mark O’Shea, catering and experience director at the Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We believe it is important for all MPs to get behind the campaign for free school meals for all children. We want to spread the word and the bigger picture about free school meals.”

According to research one in five schools in England is now running a food hub or pantry to support pupils and their families.

A No Child Left Behind spokesperson added: “Parents in this country work hard to provide for their children. But with falling wages and rising costs, millions of families are struggling.

“Free school meals for all would ensure every child has a hot dinner every day. And ease the pressure on families struggling to make ends meet. The Government has failed families and children in our communities. It’s time they stepped up.”
