Mellors Catering Services appoints former Children’s Food Trust’s nutritionist

Mellors Catering Services has appointed the Children’s Food Trust’s former nutritionist, Laura Whiting, to its nutrition and food development team to support its “continued growth.”

Bringing a “wealth of knowledge and experience,” Whiting will work alongside Mellors’s head of nutrition and food development, Danielle Bretherton, as well as development chefs Richard and John and the wider team to “design new and innovative recipes and menus.”

 

Promoting sites healthy choices, her focus will be to “support Mellors’s education sites and business and industry staff restaurants to exceed the government’s food standards and improve the nutritional content of food across the estate.”

 

Whiting said: “I’m really excited to be joining the team at Mellors. I can’t wait to start working with the food development and catering teams to develop some exciting new menus and provide support across Mellors sites.  

 

“Mellors prides itself on providing high quality, fresh food and we want to make sure that it not only looks and tastes good but that it’s also nutritious.”

 

With over 210 contracts, the catering company serves around 80,000 student and adults a day, which saw it win Contract Caterer of the Year 2018
