Abstract
Matt Wood, managing director at Lexington Catering, will be one of the key speakers at Arena’s Summer Event which is taking place on Friday 12th July at The Waldorf Hilton.

In January 2022 Matt joined Lexington as managing director, working with some of the world’s most successful global brands. Lexington champion sustainable and social value causes, especially around responsible sourcing, re-use of ingredients as well as helping to provide career opportunities and food for those in need in our society.

Lexington Catering is an award-winning contract caterer with a workforce of c.1,400 employees, serving some 10 million meals annually and working across 150 client sites in the UK. In June 2024 Matt was promoted to lead parent company Elior’s B&I business, in addition to his ongoing leadership of Lexington - a move which will ‘unify the exceptional quality and experience of both brands’.

Shane Kavanagh, managing director at BaxterStorey, will also be on the panel discussion. He looks after a wide range of clients, from large International banking to record labels and co-working spaces - all united by an 'obsession for great food and service'.

This event will be one of the first foodservice events taking place after the general election on 4th July 2024. After lunch, the panel of hospitality and foodservice industry leaders will explore the opportunities and challenges in store given a change in Government.

Topics for discussion will include:

  • What's in store for the sector throughout 2024 and beyond
  • What is going to change and what opportunities and challenges are likely to arise
  • What are the growth opportunities our leaders are seeing within their businesses and the sector as a whole
  • How are they driving consumer spending through innovation
  • Delivering an authentic customer experience through inspiration
  • Retaining, nurturing and motivating staff
  • The use of technology to ease operations
