McCain Foodservice Solutions and KERB+ are celebrating after nine new start-ups that were apart of the Streets Ahead Programme took part in a street food market at Gipsy Hill Brewery.

McCain Foodservice Solutions launched their Streets Ahead programme 15 months ago dedicated to bringing new operators into the industry. The programme powered by KERB+, educates and supports aspiring entrepreneurs from marginalized backgrounds into starting their own street food business.

Traders included: Jamai Korean, Homely Delish, Kemi’s Kitchen, Yogi’s Sri Lankan Kitchen, Samarkand Palav, Abo Saleem, Sojok, Jerk ‘N’ Fusion and Utopia.

Mark Hodge, McCain Foods GB marketing director, said: “To witness the culmination of 15 months hard work pay off for these new businesses was a delight to see. I’m proud we could invest in these remarkable individuals to complete their training and now provide them with this opportunity to gain hands on experience trading for the first time.

“We're excited to see their businesses grow. Now were looking forward to continuing the programme into its second year, supporting even more new street food operators to enter the hospitality industry.”

  • Juicy fried chicken and jollof rice from Kemi at Kemi’s Kitchen
  • Bite-sized Turkmenistan manti dumplings from Maral at Ayal
  • Brown stew chicken with rice and peas from Ozayr at Jamaikorean
  • Italian focaccia sandwiches meet jerk chicken from Simeon at Jerk N Fusion
  • Flavour-packed curries with roti and sambal from Yogi at Yogi’s Sri Lankan Kitchen
