Aiming to show the wide range of ways those potato products can be used, the map offers up recipes that have been adapted from traditional cuisines worldwide. Ranging from Mexico to China in their inspiration, the map aims to show the versatility and adaptability that potatoes can bring to caterers, and show that there’s another, less traditional side to the ingredient for caterers to tap into.
A spokesperson for McCain Foodservice, said: “The potato has always been considered a diet staple due to its nutritional benefits and versatility.
“In today’s society where consumers have a growing appetite for new tastes, food trends and experiences we’re looking around the world for inspiration on how the humble potato can be used in new and exciting ways.”
By being economical in the number of ingredients used, ensuring that minimal prep is involved, and by considering a number of cooking techniques, McCain has also aimed to make the recipes adaptable to a number of sectors and serving situations.
As such, many of the recipes look as home as much on a casual dining menu as they would chalked up on a street food van blackboard.
All the recipes available within the interactive portal can be downloaded as a printable PDF, containing information about serving size and nutrition, and also some suggestions on how to individually tailor ingredients.
