Abstract
Mary’s Meals are celebrating after supplying 2,279,941 children across 20 countries with nutritious meals in their place of education.
The charity has welcomed over 200,000 more children into their school feeding programme since September 2021.
A spokesperson for Mary’s Meals said: “We continue to grow, expanding our programmes in the countries we serve, and adding new programmes in other parts of the world. As always, our focus at Mary’s Meals remains on the next hungry child and we have reached many, many more of them over the past six months, experiencing tremendous growth in many of our programme countries.”
Mary’s Meals has expanded their school feeding programme to:
- A further 31 schools and six children’s centres in North West Madagascar.
- BND is now serving Mary’s Meals to more than 100,000 children in the Central Plateau region of Haiti.
- Expanded the programme in South Sudan - where Mary’s Meals have been serving food since 2008.
- Grew programmes in Zambia, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
- Began school feeding in Yemen.
