Abstract
Mars Foodservice has announced the return of its Dolmio & Uncle Ben’s foodservice challenge for catering and hospitality students.

The competition invites students to design two dishes suitable for a street food menu using Uncle Ben and Dolmio sauces and rice products.

Entrants can choose to either create a street food sharing platter, healthy lunch or dessert.

Judges will paper-judge the dishes and select eight to attend a live Grand Final Cook-Off to be held at London’s Hotelympia hospitality show.

Matt Cutts, product director at Mars Food Europe, said: “We are extremely dedicated to all aspects of the future within foodservice and engaging with the next generation of chefs is the perfect next step in supporting this global initiative.

“Not only does it allow new, upcoming talent to showcase their culinary skills, but it provides an opportunity for the students to be supported by Mars Foodservice in a unique and fun way.”

The winner of each category from the live final will receive £200 of Nisbets vouchers to spend on catering equipment, with the winner of the ‘Overall Best Menu’ receiving £400 worth.

Each finalist will also receive a certificate and personally embroidered chef’s jacket.
