The morning was all about fun and sharing information with the children in an entertaining and informative way. The children learnt about the seasonality of food, how it is grown and what nutritional values it can offer to a balanced diet.
The campaign launched with an online family cooking channel, focused on getting kids and their parents back into the kitchen, learning to cook and having fun in order to nurture a lifelong good relationship with food.
Kristen Kinkella, spokesperson for Mars Food UK, said: “We want to help bring families together and start healthy eating habits early.
“Evidence shows that kids are more likely to eat a meal when they help prepare it, and that when families eat together they are more likely to eat healthier foods.
“We want Ben’s Beginners to put the fun into learning how to cook and teach skills that will last a lifetime.”
At the end of the day all of the children were awarded with a certificate for taking part and a Ben’s Beginners apron.
Mars Foods UK manufacture the DOLMIO and UNCLE BEN’S ranges of ready-to-use Foodservice sauces and rices, which are distributed by Aimia Foods.
