Abstract
Mark Penn and Clare Woolstencroft have joined Manchester City Football Club as business development executives, with Mark working alongside the Hospitality team, and Clare supporting the Conference and Events team.
The pair will be responsible for identifying new business and sales opportunities in their respective areas. A key part of their role will be networking with businesses in the city to highlight the award winning match day and non match day facilities at the stadium. Mark, from Brighton who now lives in Glossop, Derbyshire, has a wealth of experience in sales, having held senior positions at Berry Consultants in Sheffield and Venture (UK). Commenting on his appointment, he said: "I am really pleased to be working at such a dynamic, forward thinking organisation. I am looking forward to meeting existing and new clients, and being part of the award winning team here." Clare, from Poulton-le-Flyde currently lives in Chorley. She boasts over five years sales expertise having worked for McGraw-Hill Publishers, Origin Technologies and Nokia. Clare said: "I am delighted to be working at the Stadium in a role that will be both rewarding and challenging. I am really looking forward to getting involved in all aspects of conference and events, and keen to promote the outstanding offer they have here." David Chell, head of sales at City, added: "We have bolstered our sales team significantly over the last 12 months. These appointments strengthen our drive to communicate to businesses why the City of Manchester Stadium is the perfect hospitality venue and place to do business."
