To get involved people need to choose a day and get their friends, family or colleagues together for a special breakfast and donate £3 to Magic Breakfast.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, 1.7 million children were living at risk of hunger in the UK but this has risen to around 2.5 million according to new research. A study by Leeds University found that pupils who said they rarely ate breakfast achieved nearly two grades lower in their GCSEs than those who rarely missed their morning meal.
A spokesperson for Magic Breakfast, said: “We want to change that. Which is why, every morning, we offer nutritious breakfasts to around 200,000 children across the UK, working with more than 1,000 schools. By taking part in the Great Big Breakfast, you can help us raise funds, and put a spotlight on the issue of child morning hunger so that we can get closer to ending it now and for good.”
