Abstract
Food ingredients manufacturer Macphie has appointed Kirsty Allan as the sustainability manager to drive forward its environmental agenda.

Allan has joined Macphie from Bouygues Energies & Services where she has been working for the last four years.

She said: “I’m thrilled to be part of a business in which sustainability is at its heart. We are making significant progress as we formalise our plans and work hard to bring about measurable changes in how we operate.”

In this newly created position she will oversee Macphie’s growing environmental commitments and lead the company’s efforts to achieve net zero carbon emissions ahead of government targets.

Chairman Alastair Macphie added: “We have ambitious growth plans and it’s vital that sustainability continues to be built into everything we do. From new products to new processes, Kirsty will be responsible for making sure that any future transformations are sustainable.

“As a certified B Corp, we are already striving towards the highest social and environmental standards. However we must continue to build on this momentum and continually find new and better ways of working for the people and places around us. Kirsty brings with her a true passion for sustainability and a sense of enthusiasm that is already seeing her drive real change within the business.”
