Abstract
Hospitality and catering buying specialist Lynx Purchasing has announced changes to its board, positioning the business for the next phase of its expansion.

The changes, effective from January 2016, see Lynx co-founder John Pinder move to the new role of chairman. Pinder will remain actively involved in the Harrogate-based business, with a remit which includes the continued development of Lynx Purchasing’s overall growth and customer marketing strategy.

Replacing Pinder as managing director is Rachel Dobson. Dobson, who has been with Lynx Purchasing for nine years and a director for three years, is taking day-to-day responsibility for the running of the business, including maintaining Lynx Purchasing’s relationships with its broad range of suppliers.

Co-founder Howard Pearson takes on the role of sales director, overseeing the continued growth of Lynx Purchasing’s client base as well as maximising the potential to match both new and existing customers with suppliers offering exclusive prices negotiated by Lynx.

Jo Hunt, previously Lynx Purchasing administration manager, moves into the new role of director of finance. Hunt’s appointment to the board reflects her commitment and skill in maintaining the business on a firm financial footing during a period of strong growth and increasing customer numbers.

Pinder said, “As the market becomes ever-more competitive, pricing and margins remain the key to success for hospitality and catering businesses. These board changes position us to continue offering unrivalled support to both new and existing customers in their supplier relationships.

“We are proud of all that Lynx Purchasing has achieved since the business was founded 13 years ago. The four directors have a wide range of operational, supplier and sales experience in the hospitality and catering sector, and the changes put the business on a strong footing for a new phase of growth.”

Lynx Purchasing works with more than 2200 businesses including hotels, pubs, restaurants, healthcare and education providers.
