Abstract
In the second episode of Love British Food’s podcast, school food experts have had their say on how to put more British produce on the plates of schoolchildren across the country.
The podcast features chair of the Love British Food Education Working Group Derek Wright, former chair of LACA Jacquie Blake MBE, Public Sector Catering’s 2024 Chef of the Year winner Kath Breckon and OCS food service operations manager and chef Rob Cass.
The quartet discuss why they care about British food and how they get this onto school menus. They also share what they have learnt from their careers having been at the forefront of the education catering industry.
The panelists also discussed their upcoming plans for British Food Fortnight, which is taking place from 20th September to 6th October 2024. The podcast is a great opportunity for school caterers to hear from those at the top of the industry.
