Drinks ambassador for Love British Food announced Jane Payton
Abstract
Jane Peyton, the drinks educator and writer, was appointed as the drinks ambassador for Love British Food, which runs the British Food Fortnight competition from 21 September to 6 October 2019.

The aim of the Love British Food campaign is to persuade consumers to ‘buy British’ products. As an ambassador Peyton will encourage pub groups, retailers, restaurants and caterers to make British their preferred choice. This will be done all year-round and not just during British Food Fortnight.

Cost Sector Catering is the foodservice media partner for the British Food Fortnight, which aims to celebrate British food in schools, hospitals and carehomes.

Peyton said: “I’m really looking forward to my role as an advocate for British drink and celebrating the incredible libations produced in this country.

“When you think about the range of alcoholic drinks such as beer, cider, wine, mead, whisky, gin to name just a few, and all the fantastic non-alcoholic drinks that are now on the market, Britain’s drinks cabinet is one of the most impressive in the world.”

Peyton created the national beer day in the UK (15 June) and she founded the School of Booze that offers tasting events.

Other Love British Food ambassadors include Raymond Blanc, Candice Brown and Chris Bavin.

Any pub groups, restaurants, caterers and retailers that want to focus on British drink and food and participate in British Food Fortnight can find out more at http://www.lovebritishfood.co.uk/
