Organised by the Allegra Foundation Ltd, UK Coffee Week is the nationwide charitable programme that celebrates the UK coffee sector, whilst raising vital funds to deliver clean drinking water projects in coffee-producing countries.
The UK Coffee Week charity, Project Waterfall currently helps some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in Tanzania gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene, by working in partnership with WaterAid.
Frances Booth, category marketing manager at Lotus Bakeries is thrilled to be part of the scheme: “As a leading brand in the food-service industry with a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, we recognise the need to support marginalised communities in coffee-producing countries who lack access to clean water. By sponsoring UK Coffee Week as the Official Biscuit Sponsor, it is the perfect way for us to help these communities whilst celebrating the UK’s thriving coffee sector.”
The Allegra Foundation chairman Jeffrey Young, is delighted to have Lotus Bakeries on board in such a significant way: “It is crucial that for UK Coffee Week to be a success, we have the backing of major brands and companies. Lotus biscuits are the number one complimentary bite-size snack and we are ecstatic that they are supporting such a worthwhile cause.”
