The venue, which has 12 unique spaces for hosting meetings, conferences, receptions, dinners and weddings for up to 1,000 people, attributes the increase in turnover to a great Ashes year, as the UK hosted the 2015 series, which encouraged interest in the venue for events.
Nick Kenton, head of sales for meetings, events and hospitality at MCC, said: “2015 has been a particularly strong year with us benefitting from the feel-good factor around England winning back the Ashes, but the final numbers have exceeded our expectations and the dedication and hard work from the team in delivering exceptional events has helped us achieve a record breaking year.
“We anticipate 2016 to be a busy year once again. The events team will continue to focus on evening events within the famous Grade II* Pavilion, which have proved so successful, larger conferences in the Thomas Lord Suite and summer parties in our range of outdoor spaces, continuing to deliver the premium product and service we are known for.”
