Abstract
Vacherin, the independent London caterer, has celebrated its sustainability achievements in its annual sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) report for 2016/17 published today (April 26).

The ‘Vacherin Cares’ report names achievements, such as becoming a zero waste-to-landfill company and converting over 5,000kg of coffee grounds and 6,000 litres of rapeseed oil to biofuel.

Zoe Stennett-Cox, Vacherin’s sustainability lead, said: “Unexpected changes on the global stage and the impact that these may have on environmental legislation will not diminish our commitment to CSR nor our industry’s responsibilities towards it.

“Our clients tell us they want greater provenance transparency, less waste, and healthier food. Vacherin has delivered this time and again and still managed consistent turnover growth throughout its 14 years.”

The company put the results down to investments in the areas of food, environment and the community. Innovations from the company include ‘Red Meat Free Mondays’ and ‘A Greener Choice’ planet-friendly food range.

Vacherin has also entered into partnerships with social enterprise Luminary Bakery and the Deptford Reach charity for vulnerable adults.

The report comes after the company last week announced that its annual turnover grew 14.4% in 2016, exceeding £17 million for the first time.
