Abstract
Award-winning chef and restaurateur Anthony Flinn has announced that he is now recruiting for new staff to join him at his latest venture, The Piazza by Anthony, in Leeds Corn Exchange.
The local chef is looking to create 40 new jobs for the city and is seeking for staff of all skills and ages to fill roles such as bakers, patisseries, college graduate chefs, front of house and office workers, amongst many others. Flinn commented: "The Piazza by Anthony is our most ambitious project to date and we are delighted to have found a venue like Leeds Corn Exchange to base a unique concept. It will compliment our existing three restaurants in Leeds with a more inclusive offer for anyone to enjoy. "We are opening The Piazza at a time when many gastro pubs are closing and we hope that we can employ talented people who may otherwise be out of work." Richard Saul, asset manager for Threadneedle, managers of the Leeds Corn Exchange, added: "Occupying more than 50% of the available space in Leeds Corn Exchange, The Piazza will offer a varied and vibrant mix of restaurants and food shops…We are also discussing terms with other local businesses which will create future employment opportunities for the City." Due to open next month, the venue will feature a 125 seated brasserie, a masterclass area for private bookings, a Champagne lounge, bar, café and separate retail outlets including a bakery, patisserie, chocolatiere, aroma room and cheese shop. Anthony aims to employ around 80 people across his four restaurants in Leeds.
