Abstract
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has launched a new grant scheme worth £10,000 for local food hygiene and healthy eating initiatives.
The scheme is open to applications from local authorities, district councils, food liason groups or trading standards regional groups in England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Applications must be submitted by 29 February.
It forms part of the Agency's work to promote the safe handling of food in the home by working with schools and providing support for local food safety initiatives.
This year, the Agency will be focusing on working with older people, on projects that are based on the Agency's Food Competency Framework for children and young people, and tailoring existing initiatives to new areas or target audiences.
The launch of the scheme in Scotland will be announced at a later date.
