Abstract
Catering and facilities management consultancy The Litmus Partnership has launched their new specialist in-house food procurement and catering management system.

Created specifically for the education sector, Litmus Edge gives schools and Multi-Academy Trusts a range of ‘innovative’ tools all housed on one platform, ‘revolutionising’ the way they run their in-house food operations.

It reduces procurement costs by up to 20%, unlocking funds to increase the amount of ‘spend on the plate’, as well as removing the need for multiple systems and cumbersome paperwork, enabling them to run their in-house kitchen and catering service in a more efficient and cost-effective manner.

The four key benefits include:

  • Streamlining kitchen management processes that reduce time spent on kitchen administration by 15 hours per month on average.
  • Improved supplier management and a sector specific supply chain that reduces procurement costs by up to 20%.
  • Unique food safety, allergen and compliance technology which eliminates time consuming menu management and allergen checks.
  • Easy menu planning, pre-order and payment through access to thousands of recipes and carefully crafted, seasonal menus.

Candice Finn, commercial director at The Litmus Partnership, said: “We’ve supported schools with their in-house catering through our consultancy services for decades, but we’re always looking at new ways that we can robustly help our clients.

"We’re excited to launch Litmus Edge, a unique system, that enables schools to continue to have control of their in-house services but in a better and more efficient way. We’re already onboarding schools and anticipate demand to be high.”
