Abstract
Following the success of The List at the 2008 London International Wine Fair (LIWF), Brintex has teamed up with the wine list company TastingBuddy to provide the eCatalogue for the 2009 show.
This year The List will be free of charge for exhibitors to register their wines and, as a result, is expected to substantially increase in size.
The List will enable visitors to the LIWF to plan, search and select wines from the entire catalogue of exhibiting companies as part of their preparation. Visitors will be able to go on-line in advance of the event and search for wines by various criteria including producer, variety, style, price point, country and even if the wine is organically produced.
In a few simple clicks, the thousands of wines can be reduced to a personalised tasting list, which can be printed out or downloaded, allowing visitors to plan their time much more effectively. Furthermore, The List will be linked to The Interactive Floorplan on the LIWF website, enabling visitors to pinpoint exactly where specific wines are available to taste and plot their location on a personalised, downloadable map.
As a new feature for 2009, exhibitors have the opportunity to enhance their entry in The List. For £200 the wines can be highlighted and placed above free listings, guaranteeing increased exposure for their business and wines. Along with this is the ability to record how often each priority listing is seen and clicked on, therefore providing a direct measure on investment.
So far there have been over 9,000 individual searches to the 2008 LIWF site.
The List 2009 is now live and ready for input by exhibitors and is accessible via www.londonwinefair.com
