Abstract
Lindley Group, a sports stadia caterer, is strengthening its senior management team with the appointment of Jane Donachy to the newly created position of Director of Hospitality.
At the same time, the company has announced that Ian Daly, who took up the role as Chairman of Lindley Group Holdings in 2005, will be taking a more proactive role in shaping and driving the company's strategy as it seeks to increase its footprint in the hospitality business. Immediately prior to joining Lindley Group, London-born Donachy worked as an independent consultant to the hospitality industry where she has collaborated on a number of projects involving the Royal Opera House, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Events initiative and The Russell Partnership's successful bid for the food and beverage strategy for the 2012 Olympics. With 29 years' experience in the hospitality industry in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Donachy has worked in both sales and operational roles in a variety of sectors including leisure, sport, retail, business services and also spent a six months sabbatical running the Athletes Dining in the Village at the Sydney Olympics. In her new role at the Lindley Group she will be responsible maximising the potential of the combined force of the Lindley Dining, Hea hcotes Outside and Green's of St James's divisions, whilst exploring opportunities in other market segments. Donachy will report to Lindley Group Chief Executive, Alex McCrindle – one of the founding members of the Lindley Catering management buy-in team - who will be devoting more time to working with Ian Daly on the future development of the business. Alex said: "Having worked with Ian for the past four years and benefited from his 30 years' experience in foodservice marketing, and operations, it is great that he can now devote more time and take on a more 'hands on' strategic role. Together with the appointment of Jane with her wealth of experience and creative flair this will open up a number of new opportunities for us."
