Abstract
The Liberal Democrats are calling on the Government to provide more money to NHS Trusts so they can provide better quality meals for patients, it was reported by The Mirror.

According to recent research the NHS provided 131 million meals to patients, with the average cost per meal rising to £5.03 up from £4.20 four years ago.

Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Daisy Cooper said: “Soaring food bills are yet another problem facing our hospitals under the Conservatives, coming on top of crumbling buildings and a shortage of staff. Ministers need to give NHS trusts an extra cash boost before it’s too late, so they can afford to give all patients decent meals.”
