In support of the Government’s initiative to introduce compulsory cookery lessons for kids aged seven to 14, Roots’ tour will enable him to chat to students about his passion for food and music and show them how exciting both subjects can be.
Roots will tailor his visits to individual schools, offering students a flavour of his music and his golden rules of success in business, as well as the chance to join him for a cookery lesson.
For Secondary school students, he will also give an honest and inspirational insight into his life and show how determination can be the key to success.
Over the last few years Roots has spent a significant amount of time visiting schools and inspiring youngsters to commit to their studies whilst also discovering their passions. The School of Life Tour seeks to achieve this on a wider scale.
Roots explained more: “My hopes for the tour this year are to get young people excited about cooking and music but also to prove to them that it doesn’t matter where you come from or what your background is, if you work hard and stay determined you can be a success.
“For me cooking and music go hand-in-hand and too many youngsters see them as dull or laborious subjects, which is far from the truth. I want to meet as many young people as I can this year and hope that my enthusiasm is infectious – if I can inspire just one person then the tour will have been worth it.”
The School of Life Tour begins this week and more details about Levi’s School visits throughout the rest of 2013 will be added to the website at www.reggae-reggae.co.uk
