As part of HRC’s (Hotel, Restaurant & Catering) Salon Culinaire and in conjunction with the Craft Guild of Chefs, Tilda Chef Team of the Year is one of foodservice’s ‘most hotly anticipated’ chef competitions.
This year Tilda is challenging chef teams of two to embrace a festival of flavour, and is searching for the most innovative, authentic and exciting ways Tilda rice can feature as part of a wide range of global celebrations.
Teams will have 45 minutes to prepare four portions of a main and dessert. The judges are looking for creativity, authenticity and fun, but most importantly an entry that captures the spirit of their chosen festival and puts Tilda at the heart of their dishes.
Speaking about the competition, Annette Coggins, head of foodservice at Tilda UK, said: “There is real excitement at Tilda as we look forward to welcoming chef teams onto the Salon Culinaire stage at HRC.
“It’s the first live chef competition in two years and we can’t wait see our chef duos doing what they do best – cooking fantastic 'Tildalicious' food! The 2022 Tilda Chef team of the Year title is a very special prize, and one we can’t wait to award on the 22nd March.”
The successful team will get to enjoy the top prize of a two-night trip to Vercelli and the Piedmont region of Italy.
Endorsed by the Craft Guild of Chefs, Tilda’s specialty range hosts a wide variety of delicious rice, starting with chef favourite - Easy Cook Basmati with its elegant and natural appeal. The range also includes the nutty and aromatic Easy Cook Basmati and Wild, the naturally Fragrant Jasmine Rice and the deliciously creamy Arborio from Po Valley.
