Angela McCurry (Nourish Catering) from Pride Academy won the 2024 Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge, which is sponsored by SchoolGrid, following a cook-off against two other school chefs at the LACA Main Event.
During the ten minute cooking demonstration Angela shares her winning recipe as well as offering tips for caterers who are looking to replicate the recipe for their schoolchildren.
The competition challenges school chefs to design, cook and serve a nutritious food item that can be eaten ‘on-the-go’ by youngsters. Competitors are required to prepare cook and present four portions of a grab & go/breaktime savoury snack with a total cost per head of 80p.
School chefs can register their interest in taking part now. Registrations for the Grab ‘N’ Go Challenge will close on Friday 28th February 2025 and school chefs will have to submit their entry form by Friday 4th April 2025.
