Abstract
Sales of ice cream at KFC have soared as Brits try to keep cool during the heatwave, which has affected much of the country throughout July.

Ice cream sales have shot up by 345% compared to the same period last year, with popular items including the triple-layered Kream Ball dessert and the 79p Streetwise Sundae.

With the sweltering weather set to continue, KFC is rushing to launch a new ice cream on Monday 22nd July when the Summer Fruit Meringue Kream Ball will be introduced, featuring summer fruit sauce, dairy ice cream and meringue pieces.

Jennelle Tilling, Vice President of Marketing, KFC UK & Ireland, said: “We've never seen anything like this. Sales of ice cream are through the roof, so much so that we're introducing a brand new flavour to keep up with the demand.”
