Kent University students vote in favour of plant-based catering
Abstract
Kent University students voted in favour of university-run catering facilities implementing entirely plant-based food menus by 2027/28, it was reported by BBC News.

More than 450 students took part in the vote, which was the highest turnout in the Kent Student Union’s history. A total of 16 food outlets at the University of Kent will be impacted by the vote.

Chris Chudley, from Plant-Based Universities Kent, told BBC News: “Our campaign will maintain its presence and continue to lobby the university, and take non-violent, direct action where necessary, to ensure the student’s vote is honoured."

In recent years universities in Oxford, Cambridge and the London School of Economics (LSE) have voted in favour of switching to more sustainable menus.
