Abstract
Hospitality networking association, Arena, has enlisted UKHospitality chief executive Kate Nicholls to lead its spring lecture, where she will discuss all things Brexit as the country prepares to leave the European Union (EU).

Taking place 20 March – nine days before Britain is due to the leave the EU - Nicholls will address latest Brexit developments, and UKHospitality’s role and goals in the coming months.

Topics will include: the potential impact of Brexit on the industry; what UKHospitality is doing to represent and support businesses across all sectors; and how the industry can work together during ‘changing and challenging’ times.

She will also launch a debate on what Brexit means for the hospitality sector, inviting industry leaders to the stage to share their views and approaches to the ‘unprecedented’ political and economic situation.

She said: “The hospitality sector and UK businesses in general are facing instability unprecedented in recent memory.

“If we want to successfully meet the challenges and opportunities ahead, it is vital that we share our collective wisdom.

“I am honoured to speak at this year’s ‘Arena Savoy Lecture’ to highlight the work UKHospitality is doing to support its members and the wider sector, and I am looking forward to hearing from other business leaders.”

Arena director Lorraine Wood added: “We are thrilled that Kate Nicholls is presenting the Arena Savoy Lecture.

“Given the enormity of Brexit and the uncertainty surrounding it, there really is no one better to address hospitality professionals at this time.

“We’re in uncharted and confusing territory and Kate’s insight will be valuable to everyone in the industry. Add to this the views and expertise of other industry leaders, and attendees will have plenty to take back to their own businesses about the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“Like it or not, Brexit will impact us all, so this is an unmissable event for all hospitality professionals.”

‘Arena Savoy Lecture: A view from the top’ will take place at The Savoy Hotel (London) on 20 March, and includes a drinks reception and three-course dinner with wine.

Tickets are available now at £199 for members and £249 for non-members. Visit https://arena.org.uk/event/3661 for more information.
