Abstract
Menu-management and nutrition experts, Kafoodle, has secured seed-round funding for growth and expansion into other markets.

The food technology company specialises in food, allergen and nutrition management software for a variety of sectors and has a company mission to improve health globally through the personalisation of food.

Kafoodle’s client base includes healthcare, contract catering and hospitality sector leaders HC-One, Compass, OCS and BaxterStorey and they have won a place on both the John Lewis Retail Innovation Accelerator and Bupa B Table programmes.

Kim Antoniou, co-founder, said: “This is a great time for Kafoodle, in the last year we have strategically developed a truly excellent and highly experienced executive team, and by securing this funding we now have the financial backing to support us to confidently deliver on our ambitious ‘at home’ and international vision and roadmap. As a co-founder on a personal mission for food transparency for all, I could not be more proud of our team or more excited for the future.”

As a result of the fund-round and to broaden their experience, Kafoodle has expanded its senior management team and board. Bill Alexander has been appointed as Non-Exec Chairman; as CEO of online gift experience retailer Redletterdays he took the business from administration through to a successful sale in 2017. Ex-Deloitte management consultant and co-founder of food and nutrition consultancy Fig & Bloom, Caroline Monkhouse Flower, has been appointed as COO and Kafoodle’s Co-Founder, Tarryn Gorre, has been appointed as CEO.

Tarryn Gorre, CEO and Kafoodle co-founder said: “We are delighted that we have closed our seed-fund round, or largest fundraise to date. This will not only support our ambitions to grow, scale and innovate, but will help us to deliver our vision – to improve health globally through transparency within food.
