Over 60 volunteers worked at the racecourse over two days to raise money for the children’s hospice, with the final amount being matched by Jockey Club Catering.
In the last three years the partnership has helped raise over £16,500 for the local charity helping to fund care for the 269 children currently being supported by the hospice.
Money raised will go towards private and group counselling sessions for children, parents, siblings and families; physical therapy including relaxing massage, reiki, aromatherapy and reflexology; providing nutritious homecooked meals for children and their families; ensuring the very highest standard of cleanliness is upheld in the hospice; maintaining the beautiful gardens which offer quality time outdoors; as well as practical and emotional bereavement support.
