JJ Food Service National Chip Week
Abstract
National foodservice specialist JJ Food Service launches campaign to help customers capitalise on National Chip Week 2015.

The company will be holding potato-themed promotions and a social media competition in the lead up to National Chip Week on February 16th-22nd 2015.

Sue Guilfoyle, JJ national account manager, said: “National Chip Week is a fantastic opportunity for pubs, restaurants, chip shops and schools - anyone that sells chips - to get involved in marketing activities that can help to raise the profile of the humble potato while increasing customer engagement and generating more sales.”

Guilfoyle suggests five ways to engage customers in National Chip Week:

Educate and inform – not everyone is aware of the health benefits of potatoes – why not highlight one nutrition fact a day or interesting recipe a day on your chalk board?
Suggest healthier alternatives – you can encourage thicker chip cuts that can be lower in fat per 100g compared with thinner cut fries. Our Chunky Cut Super Crisp chips are the perfect option
Encourage sampling – if you’re really proud of your chips why not have a ‘chip sampling’ day or offer customers complimentary chips with their meal to encourage them to try new variants?
Utilise social media – Locate the social media expert in your business and challenge them to engage customers. How about a free meal for the best chip-dip recipe on Twitter or Facebook?
Go gluten-free – the gluten-free market is worth more than £355m in the UK and is expected to hit £519m by 2016 – so highlight gluten-free chip options on your menus throughout chip week.

At the end of 2014, JJ launched its new gluten-free Super Crisp Chip range to help pubs, restaurants and caterers to respond to the growing number of gluten-free diets.

JJ Food Service is a £183m family-owned specialist foodservice company that delivers from eight branches around the UK to cafes and coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, hotels, Quick Service Restaurants, schools and local authorities.
