It works by using details that have been captured via the JJ app by a card scanner and stored in the system to allow customers to checkout quicker.
JJ Food Service chief operating officer, Mushtaque Ahmed, said: “Convenience and speed are absolutely key to our customers. With more than 50% of our online orders now coming via a mobile device, one tap pay will make online shopping at JJ Food Service faster than ever before.”
The new feature follows the recent announcement of JJ’s new fingerprint ID, which enables instant authentication for app users, and card scanning, which allows app customers to automatically scan in card details.
Ahmed added: “As a result of these three developments, we have reduced the time taken to place an online order by a minimum of 30%."
The company says that its app has hit a record of more than 25,000 downloads following the new developments.
