Group general manager at JJ Food Service Terry Larkin, said: “The work we recently did in London with the Healthier Catering Commitment had positive results for everyone involved, so we are delighted to extend the offer to other regions to champion the healthier eating message.”
A 10% discount on healthier eating options has been offered by JJ on items such as fresh fruit, vegetables and low calorie soft drinks.
Healthy Choice is a joint initiative between Brighton & Hove City Council and the Food Partnership and the scheme is open to all outlets serving meals registered in Brighton & Hove with a Food Hygiene Rating score of three or above.
Healthy catering project officer for Brighton & Hove City Council, Harriet Knights, said: “Healthy Choice supports food outlets to prepare, cook and serve food in a healthier way and those that do can apply for a free Award.
“We’re always keen to provide outlets in the city access to food and drink products that make it easier for them to promote healthier eating to their customers.”
