James Tanner hands Salon Chef Director baton over to Steve Munkley
Abstract
Salon Chef Director James Tanner has announced that he’s stepped down from the post due to ‘burgeoning work commitments’ and will be succeeded by Steve Munkley.

Tanner said: “Unfortunately my work commitments have led me to take the extremely difficult decision to step down from a post that I dearly love and enjoy - I know Steve will do an absolutely fantastic job, and I will be here to support him in any way that I can going forward.”

Steve Munkley is currently executive head chef of the Royal Garden Hotel, and has had a relationship with the hotel since the early 1980s when he started as a commis chef, before rejoining the operation as executive head chef 16 years ago.

Munkley said: “I’m over the moon - I was chuffed to bits to be asked. I’m following in some big footsteps, James has done some great work implementing changes to Salon Culinaire and it’s now my job to carry on that good work.”

Munkley will take up the position from Hotelympia 2016.
