Abstract
New Walker's flavour crisps Builder's Breakfast created by Emma Rushin from Belper, Derbyshire, has fought off stiff competition to win the 'Do Us A Flavour' challenge.
It was a tightly fought contest but there could only be one winner. Rushin's winning flavour competed against the other five finalists: Chilli & Chocolate, Fish & Chips, Onion Bhaji, Crispy Duck & Hoi Sin, and Cajun Squirrel. As you bite into the Builder's Breakfast crisps you taste the smoky bacon and the herby sausages, your taste buds are then hit by the smell of butter from the toast, the tomato and creamy egg. You are left with the subtle taste of fried egg taste in your mouth after these crisps. As well as gaining 1% of the Builder's Breakfast's future sales, Rushin has bagged the grand prize of £50,000. Heston Blumenthal, who headed up the judging panel, announced the winning flavour yesterday (6 May), along with Gary Linekar and Fearne Cotton. The competition was launched after a campaign asked the public to invent a brand new flavour of crisps.
