Delivered through three key pillars; For You, For Life and For the Plant, Roots to the Future recognises the important links between climate, health and nature.
To celebrate the launch and mark British Food Fortnight, the ISS team partnered with Fullwood Primary School in Ilford for a food education day. The day was split into a series of interactive sessions designed to ‘inspire, entertain and educate’.
Linda Cregan, food service director at ISS, said: “It was fantastic to see our partners, chefs and nutritionists come together to introduce some of our young customers to key principles which can help instil healthier habits for life. The food education event was the beginning of a program of activities which will support pupils and schools in delivering health and wellbeing activities.”
Chris Collins, TV gardener and ISS partner with the help of our friends at Innocent Drinks, gave pupils the opportunity to plant vegetable seeds which they will go on to take care of in class or at home. Pupils learnt how easy it was to enjoy healthy homemade food by baking bread with chefs, making sugar swaps with nutritionists and using a pedal-powered smoothie bike got pupils moving.
