The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise to acknowledge and understand those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. It states that the Armed Forces and their families should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society that they serve with their lives.
Martin Burholt, chief operating officer for Government, Healthcare and Education at ISS, said: “We are proud to honour our military community by re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Today’s event showcases our ongoing commitment to acknowledging the dedication of those in the military, and we were privileged to mark the occasion in the company of such esteemed guests.”
As a signatory of the Covenant, ISS pledges to:
- Promote the Armed Forces
- Support veterans, reserves and cadet organisations, as well as support for service spouses and partners
- Recognise national events, including supporting Armed Forces Day and Remembrance activities
- Raise awareness for Armed Forces charities
Liam Eyers, project deployment director for Government, Healthcare, Education, and co-chair of ISS Military Community ERG, added: “I’m proud to work for an organisation that supports our Armed Forces, and recognises the challenges we all face when we leave the military — as a veteran myself, I understand the difficulty in adjusting back into civilian life and work.
“ISS champions those who serve or have served in Armed Forces by recognising the unique skills we bring from our time in service and helping make that adjustment easier.”
