Since 2009, ISS has delivered the employee restaurant service at the Guildhall and retained the contract following a competitive tender process. ISS’s winning solution includes exciting new hot food and salad concepts, as well as plans to re-launch existing services.
At the client's request, the proposal also included a London Living Wage (LLW) option, which was accepted. ISS also delivers cleaning services to the corporation, which recently agreed to apply the LLW to current cleaning contracts, as well as five existing catering contracts.
The move will see just over half of the ISS catering employees on the contract receive a wage increase of up to 15%.
Commenting on the new contract, which started on September 1, Andy Chappell, managing director of ISS Food and Hospitality, said: “I am delighted that the City of London are extending their partnership with ISS Food and Hospitality and we look forward to continuing the delivery of customer focussed food services for the Corporation’s employees.
“Both ISS and the City of London Corporation are committed to the principles of the living wage, and I am really proud that we have been able to work together to implement the policy on this contract which will make a real difference to our people, and will deliver demonstrable benefits for our client.”
