Abstract
The seventh World Obesity Live webinar, 'Obesity, COVID-19 and Food Systems: Collective Action for Healthy Recovery' will be held on July 10th starting at 2.30pm (BST).

Organisers say it will build on the success of previous World Obesity Live events as a fully interactive webinar, delivered in partnership with the Global Alliance for the Future of Food.

The aim is to take a step back and ‘look at obesity and Covid-19 in the wider context of food systems’.

It is being chaired by Professor Corinna Hawkes, director of the Centre for Food Policy at City University in London, while speakers include Nancy Aberto, Deputy Director of Nutrition and Food Systems Division, FAO, and William Dietz - Director of Sumner M. Redstone Global Center for Prevention and Wellness, Professor at GWU, Co-chair of the Lancet Commission on Obesity, US.

Sessions will consider how local and global food environments have been impacted by Covid-19, and the importance of food systems in ensuring a healthy recovery for people and planet.

It hopes to attract participants from the health, nutrition, food and climate communities at a moment of opportunity to discuss the actions needed across food, heath and climate sectors for a healthy recovery.
