Eight managers were recognised at the ceremony organised by IOH London Branch with three taking home awards.
The Overall Shield Winner was Daniel Dreiseitel, assistant restaurant manager at The Ritz Hotel London.
Dreiseitel won a boot camp training session donated by MJ Inspire, a year of mentoring with Michael Voigt FIH, the opening manager of L'Oscar, invitations to five industry events and complimentary membership of the IOH for one year.
Two Highly Commended Awards went to Laura Amos, catering manager Holyrood House, Ampersand and Rebecca Cupitt, accenture Group Manager for Lusso Catering.
The five other managers who made it onto the shortlist were-
- Ciaran Burns, assistant front of house manager, The Dorchester London
- Callum Curtis-Bennent, deputy general manager, Westminster Schools, Brookwood Partnership;
- Charlotte Horler, front office manager, Montague on the Gardens, London
- Carmen Rademacher, director of sales, Hilton Bankside,
- Daniel Thompson, general manager, Mullion Cove Hotel, Helston, Cornwall
The awards were presented by Paul Evans FIH, chairman, and Vic Laws FIH MBE honorary president of the IOH London Branch and Organising Committee.
Evans says: "We all remember working for great managers, so it is in all of our interests to reward exceptionally hard-working and talented individuals at the start of their management careers.
“Employers can put forward their talent through the Institute of Hospitality where their achievements and potential are recognised by the industry at large. We will be sending out details of the 2018 awards soon."
