The Institute of Hospitality will be hosting a series of professional development short courses taking place in Edinburgh, Croydon, Oxford, Manchester and Plymouth and starting this November and continuing until June 2019.

The one-day and half-day courses are open to all interested hospitality professionals. The courses are specially designed to equip owners and managers with new skills they can immediately apply in their businesses.

Topics covered include:
Motivating and getting the most from your team
Managing sales performance
Showrounds that sell
Boosting sales and productivity
Food and beverage cost control
Adding value to your restaurant
Finance for non-finance managers
An introduction to revenue management and KPIs

Alistair Sandall FIH, head of professional development, Institute of Hospitality, said: “Despite the rise of online learning, feedback from our members underlines how highly they value face-to-face training and its many benefits:

The opportunity to meet like-minded professionals and expand your professional and personal network, step outside your everyday environment and reflect on your role, learn new skills in a collective, supportive group and have your queries answered and discussed in the here and now.

“Our series of short courses addresses the very real demand for professional development amongst supervisors, middle managers, and owner/operators across the country.”
